Prime Minister Vasile Tofan thanked Parliament for the “vote of confidence” and said that the newly formed Executive is a “Government of courage.”
The Prime Minister acknowledged that the Cabinet faces significant challenges. At the same time, he said that major changes implemented by governments throughout history have been based on courage.
“Let us recognize that the challenges are great. Let us work, do it with integrity and do it with courage. The great steps taken by governments over time have been made with courage,” Tofan said.
At the same time, Tofan instructed ministries to reduce spending from public funds, including expenses for official travel, saying that authorities must “tighten their belts” before asking citizens to do the same.
