Prosecutors are seeking a 15-year prison sentence for former Democratic MP Constantin Tutu, who faces charges of illicit enrichment and influence peddling, reports PRO TV Moldova.

They have requested that his home, property, and one of his bank accounts remain under seizure. The case involves more than three million lei and 20,000 euros.

Law enforcement officers detained Tutu on October 2 at the Vulcanesti border crossing, as he entered the country from Ukraine.

According to the police, he presented himself voluntarily at the border but allegedly tried to persuade customs officials—through intermediaries—to let him enter Moldova without checks.

Authorities later placed him in custody at Penitentiary No. 13 in Chisinau.

Earlier, at the end of July, Greek police detained Tutu in Athens alongside Vlad Plahotniuc, but released him shortly afterward.
