Several citizens, including public officials and journalists, have received death threats, according to the Police of the Republic of Moldova. Authorities say these threats are part of a broader campaign aimed at disrupting Independence Day events and intimidating the public.
Police urge the population to ignore such messages and to report any threats they receive. Investigators have already gathered information and are taking measures to identify and locate those responsible.
The authorities also released an audio recording in which an individual instructs others to gather in Chisinau city center around 16:30 for a protest, highlighting intentions by influence groups from the Russian Federation to cause disorder during the celebrations.
