From January to July 2024, approximately 7,900 round-trip flights were operated and monitored at Chisinau International Airport. In the first five months, punctuality levels were satisfactory. Punctuality issues emerged in July when only 46% of all flights landed on time, and only 39% took off on time. Additionally, the same month saw a record number of passengers. It shows the analysis of expert Stanislav Ghiletchi, Deputy Director of the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IEPR).
Chisinau International Airport reported that approximately 485,000 people passed through the airport.
During the monitoring period, airlines operated the most flights to the following destinations: Istanbul (13.8%), Antalya (10.7%), Bucharest (9.2%), London (7.5%), Warsaw (5.4%), Tel Aviv, and Sharm El-Sheikh (4.8% each), Yerevan (4.1%), and Dublin (3.3%).
Fly One operated the most flights, handling 31% of all flights at Chisinau International Airport during the reference period. HiSky ranked second with 22%.
The three most punctual airlines for landing were Turkish Airlines, TAROM, and LOT Polish Airlines (see Table 1). On the other hand, the three most punctual airlines for takeoff were TAROM, Fly One, and HiSky (see Table 2).
