Radu Marian Warns of Fake Robocalls Linked to Banned Shor Party Ahead of Moldova–EU Summit

Radu Marian, a Member of Parliament from the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), warned that fraudsters linked to the banned Shor Party are targeting Moldovan citizens with fake robocalls. These calls falsely claim that people will receive payment to attend a rally in support of the upcoming Moldova–European Union Summit.

Marian denounced the messages as a hoax and urged the public to stay alert.

“Some citizens are receiving robocalls from the Shor Party, inviting them to the PAS headquarters for a so-called paid rally in support of the Moldova–EU Summit. It is a blatant lie!” he wrote on social media.

He stressed that the PAS has never organized paid rallies or protests. By contrast, he reminded the public that the now-banned Shor Party has repeatedly used financial incentives to attract participants.

“We urge all citizens to report such incidents to the police,” Marian added.

On July 4, Chisinau will host the Moldova–EU Summit. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa will attend.

According to sources cited by Realitatea, the summit will likely feature major announcements concerning the energy sector, financial support for Moldova, and the liberalization of roaming between Moldova and the European Union.
