Romania and Moldova Showcase Their Shared Roots at the 3rd Edition of the Romanian Traditions Festival

The Romanian Government, with the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova, is organizing the third edition of the Festival of Romanian Traditions in Chisinau’s Great National Assembly Square. The event, set for May 24–25, will bring together folk artists from Romania and the Republic of Moldova under a unique concept. It will offer the public hands-on experiences with both ancient and modern Romanian craftsmanship.

Over 50 authentic folk artisans from both sides of the Prut River will arrive in the center of Chisinau to showcase their creations and hold workshops. United by the desire to bring the two cultural, historical, and spiritual spaces together, they aim to demonstrate the shared roots of Romanian traditions. Folk artists from all historical regions of Romania and various parts of the Republic of Moldova will present their work in traditional crafts such as carpentry, leatherwork, mask-making, wood carving, sheepskin coat tailoring, pottery, icon painting, and more.

Throughout the two days of the Festival of Romanian Traditions, music and dance ensembles from Romania and Moldova will perform on the stage set in the Great National Assembly Square, offering a marathon of performances. The Romanian Government aims to organize one of the largest public festivals in Moldova in recent years through this event.
