Romanian banker becomes head of Moldovan Energbank

The executive committee of the National Bank of Moldova has approved the candidacy of Romanian banker Andrei-Liviu Stamatian as head of the management committee of the Moldovan bank Energbank. As Mold Street reported on January 22, Energbank was left without a manager in September 2023.

According to the publication, the executive committee of the National Bank approved the appointment of Andrei-Liviu Stamatian as head of the management committee of Energbank on January 11, 2024. Stamatian will hold the post until September 27, 2027, according to the mandate.

As the publication notes, the position of head of Energbank’s management committee became vacant after the dismissal of Lilian Guzun, who held the post for only one month.

According to Stamatian’s resume on LinkedIn, before his new position, he was director of retail, digital, and alternative distribution channels at UniCredit Bank Romania in Romania. Stamatian indicates that he helps banks attract retail and corporate customers and efficiently organize internal operations.
