President of Romania Nicusor Dan reaffirmed his country’s strong commitment to the Republic of Moldova, pledging support for European integration and cooperation in key sectors such as transportation, energy, and the economy.
Speaking at the Cotroceni Palace during the Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy, Dan underlined Moldova’s strategic importance.
“The Republic of Moldova must remain a priority. We will continue to support both the efforts of integration into the Union and all the concrete issues that the Republic of Moldova needs — transportation, energy, and economic cooperation. And I am optimistic that the citizens of the Republic of Moldova will continue their European direction in the elections at the end of next month,” he stated, as quoted by IPN.
The Romanian president also stressed the importance of a predictable and coherent foreign policy, reaffirming the country’s commitment to the EU, NATO, the Strategic Partnership with the United States, as well as respect for international law and a rule-based world order.

In addition, Dan emphasized the need for a comprehensive strategy to strengthen ties with Romanians abroad and reiterated Romania’s firm support for Ukraine, highlighting that “it is about our own security.”
