Romanian Presidential Runoff: 64 Polling Stations Open in Moldova for Diaspora Voting

For the second round of the Romanian presidential election, Romanian citizens in the Republic of Moldova will have access to the same 64 polling stations as in the first round, according to IPN.

Diaspora voting will take place over three days: May 16, 17, and 18, with polling stations open daily from 07:00 a.m. to 09:00 p.m.

The runoff pits George Simion of the AUR party against independent candidate Nicusor Dan. In the first round, Simion secured 40.96% of the vote, while Dan received 20.99%.

During the initial round, over 970,000 Romanians voted abroad, with more than 90,000 casting their ballots at the 64 polling stations in Moldova alone. In total, over 8 million citizens voted in Romania.
