Searches Conducted at Moldova’s National Public Security Inspectorate in Corruption Investigation

Officers from the Internal Protection and Anti-Corruption Service (SPIA) have conducted searches at the National Public Security Inspectorate. SPIA’s press service confirmed to IPN that the actions are part of a criminal case opened over allegations of passive corruption and influence peddling.

One person has been detained so far. The press service did not specify the individual’s identity, but information circulating publicly suggests that the person may be a patrol officer.

The institution said further details about the case would be released later in a press statement. The investigation is ongoing.
