Romanian MEP Siegfried Muresan will head the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with Moldova. He stressed that Moldova is crucial for the security of the EU and Romania, emphasizing the need for financial and technical assistance.
Muresan pledges to advocate for Moldova and its citizens in the European Parliament. He stated that his main objective as head of the Delegation is to help Moldova counter Russian threats and prepare for EU membership.
“Moldova needs more financial and technical support from the European Union to modernize, reform, and prepare for accession. That is why I will complement my role as head of the delegation with my work as the European Parliament’s chief negotiator for the EU’s future multiannual budget post-2027.

Siegfried Muresan previously led the European Parliament Delegation for relations with Moldova. The Romanian politician has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2014 and has become one of the key advocates for Moldova’s accession to the EU within the European legislative body.
