Young people from other countries who want to pursue higher education in Moldova can now find all necessary information on a single platform, www.studyin.md. Authorities developed the platform to promote study opportunities and the educational offer of several higher education institutions in the country.
The www.studyin.md website presents information about bachelor and master programmes taught in English that five public universities in Moldova currently offer. Authorities plan to expand the educational offer by adding more study programmes.
The platform also explains how applicants can access study programmes, describes living conditions provided for international students, outlines visa application procedures where required, and offers other useful guidance. In addition, the website includes promotional materials about the geography, history, and culture of Moldova, with more content to be added in the future.
The World Bank financed the creation of the platform through the Higher Education in Moldova Project.
Over the past two years, the Ministry of Education and Research has launched a broad process to internationalize higher education in Moldova. According to the latest official data, around 6,500 international students from 50 countries currently study in Moldova. Of these, 4,830 are enrolled in bachelor and integrated programmes, while nearly 1,600 pursue master programmes.
