Speaker Igor Grosu Invites Citizens to Mark 35 Years of Sovereignty at Commemorative March

Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu delivered a message marking 35 years since Moldova adopted the Declaration of Sovereignty and invited citizens to join the Sovereignty March.

“It has been a challenging journey, marked by many obstacles. Yet, through our votes, hard work, and love for our country, we Moldovans have consistently shown that we want a prosperous and peaceful life at home. We want to leave our children a free, independent, and secure country,” Grosu stated.

He extended a public invitation to join the commemorative march on June 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici monument on Alexei Mateevici Street in Chisinau to honor this historic moment together.

Earlier, President Maia Sandu also encouraged citizens to participate in the Sovereignty March, which marks 35 years since Parliament adopted the Declaration of Sovereignty on June 23, 1990.

“I invite you to the Sovereignty March to celebrate the courage of our predecessors and our shared aspiration for a free and dignified life in Moldova,” said President Sandu.

The Declaration of Sovereignty emphasized the unitary and indivisible character of the Moldovan state and laid the foundation for the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova.
