Speaker Igor Grosu will pay an official visit to Brussels

Speaker of the Parliament Igor Grosu, accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, will pay an official visit to Brussels from 3 to 5 July 2023, the public relations department of the Legislative Assembly reports.

Igor Grosu plans to meet with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, followed by a joint press conference. In the European Parliament, Igor Grosu will speak at the hearings organized on the Moldovan-EU Parliamentary Association Committee platform and talk with Siegfried Muresan, co-chairman of the EU-RM Parliamentary Association Committee.

The President of Parliament also scheduled meetings with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reform, Elisa Ferreira, and several MEPs.

The visit program also includes meetings with the leadership of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium – Speaker of the House of Representatives Eliane Tiye and Speaker of the Senate Stephanie D’Oz. Press statements will follow the meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana.

The visit program includes Grosu’s meeting with citizens of the Republic of Moldova who live, study, or work in the Kingdom of Belgium. The conference will take place at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova headquarters in Brussels on 4 July.

Also, during July 3-5, a group of deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will make a study visit to the European Parliament. The visit takes place within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the European Parliament and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, signed in November 2021. The corresponding program includes training, online study visits, and internships.
