On Thursday, May 29, several Telegram channels reported that Vlad Kulminski and Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian may receive ambassadorial appointments. The reported leak originated from the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration.
Photos allegedly showing the committee’s agenda circulated online, but the authenticity of the images and the date of the meeting remain unclear.
Speculation suggests that Kulminski could be nominated as Moldova’s ambassador to the United States, while Serebrian may be appointed to lead the diplomatic mission in Turkey.

When contacted by Realitatea, Kulminski neither confirmed nor denied the report:
“As I said on TV, I cannot comment on this subject.”
Serebrian had not responded to inquiries at the time of publication.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) acknowledged the matter but declined to confirm any names or positions. The ministry stressed that the appointment process follows strict legal procedures:
“The process of appointing ambassadors follows the steps provided by law: the proposal comes from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is reviewed by the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy, and the final decision will be made by presidential decree,” the MFA stated.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, legal compliance, and merit-based selection. It urged patience and caution to prevent undue influence on the process:
“It is essential that the entire process be conducted without influence and without hasty conclusions to protect institutional integrity and public trust.”
The MFA will announce the final decisions after the Parliamentary Committee approves the proposed candidates.
