The reshuffling of compromised ministers was necessary before the elections, and Maia Sandu’s procrastination almost cost her the presidency. This was the opinion of Iurie Cazacu, Secretary General of PSDE, and Liviu Vovc, Secretary General of the DA Platform, part of the three-party Together bloc, who were guests on the program “Consens NaČ›ional” on RLIVE TV.
Liviu Vovc stated that Sandu would focus on replacing only the ministers who failed to meet expectations rather than the entire government. He identified several problematic ministries within the Recean government.
“The Minister of Infrastructure needs replacement, the Minister of Economy should step down, and the Minister of Justice should resign with dignity, having failed to reform effectively and swiftly. The dire state of agriculture and the minister’s arrogance are losing votes to the left. The Minister of Internal Affairs should also resign honorably and acknowledge his mistakes, as the fight against Shor only began in the second round,” argued Vovc.

Iurie Cazacu, Secretary General of PSDE, added that the Minister of Labor and Social Protection has fallen short in providing for pensioners and other vulnerable groups.
“Society is waiting for Maia Sandu to fulfill her commitments. A new term as President requires a new government, free from ministers mired in reforms. Time is not on the President’s side, and every delay in the reshuffles harms her image. We will likely only know the new ministers’ names once she begins her second term,” Cazacu added.
During the election campaign, President Sandu promised that government changes would be completed by 2025. Government spokesman Daniel Voda confirmed that Prime Minister Dorin Recean has received this message and will announce the reshuffles by December.
