Support from Lithuania: It will provide Moldova with drones and thermal imaging equipment

Lithuania will provide Moldova with drones and thermal imaging equipment for nighttime use, announced Vilnius Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas during an official visit to Moldova. According to him, the two countries will strengthen their bilateral cooperation.

“We will deliver FPV drones, and we have excellent manufacturers for this purpose. We believe they will be helpful to Moldova. We hope to complete their delivery by the end of this year,” said Laurynas Kasčiūnas.

Anatolie Nosatii stated that the visit of his Lithuanian counterpart is a great opportunity to review military cooperation and the support provided for modernizing Moldova’s defense institution, according to IPN. Authorities will also identify new projects to undertake.

“Republic Moldova is in the process of European integration, a space of peace and prosperity. It means not only economic growth and new investment opportunities but also the development of all areas of life, including a modern defense sector that ensures the safety of its citizens today and in the future,” said Nosatii.

According to the head of Moldova’s Defense, cooperation with Lithuania in the military field includes joint activities, projects, and initiatives in expertise, military education, reform, strategic communication, cybersecurity, and professional training of personnel.
