The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) set the regulated tariff for the electricity market operation service provided by Energy Market Operator M LLC (OPEM) at 3.65 lei per MWh, according to bani.md.

The OPEM requested approval of a higher tariff of 4.76 lei per MWh to recover revenues of 20.25 million lei. After reviewing the submitted materials, the ANRE adjusted the revenue structure. The regulator set the rate of return at 5 percent of total estimated costs and recognized as eligible only the assets required to organize and manage the electricity market.

The ANRE calculated the tariff based on the volume of electricity traded in 2024 by Energocom JSC, acting as the central supplier, and by electricity producers operating under market conditions. The total estimated traded volume amounts to 5.27 billion kWh.

Following these adjustments, the ANRE set the OPEM’s regulated revenue at 19.25 million lei and approved the final tariff of 3.65 lei per MWh.

On December 10, the day ahead electricity market started operating, and on December 17, 2025, the OPEM also launched the intraday electricity market.
