Alexandr Stoianoglo is absent from the Constitutional Court (CC) meeting at which the results of the second round of the presidential elections are to be validated. Although the magistrates sent him notice by e-mail and claimed that the former prosecutor general received it, he did not reply.
The persons who represented Stoianoglo in the election campaign and his lawyer neither responded to the CC notices nor confirmed receiving the invitations. The ex-candidate missed the invitation to the meeting sent by post to his home address.
The judges recused themselves from the deliberation, arguing that the representatives of the Party of Socialists appeared before the Constitutional Court to represent the interests of the party, not those of the candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo. They are Grigore Novac, Radu Mudreac and Nicolae Fomov.

Maia Sandu is also not present at the Constitutional Court. Lawyer Eduard Digore, who also leads the initiative group that supported the president in the election, represents her interests.
Meanwhile, the Party of Socialists is protesting in front of the Constitutional Court. The party’s MPs have announced their boycott of the legislature’s sitting and are urging the magistrates to invalidate the election results.
