The National Anticorruption Center (CNA) is marking its 24th anniversary on 5 June. On this occasion, President Maia Sandu attended the ceremony and delivered a message of appreciation to the institution’s staff for their contribution to strengthening the rule of law, combating corruption, and protecting democracy.

The head of state thanked the CNA team for its work during a period marked by unprecedented challenges for the Republic of Moldova, including attempts at electoral corruption, illegal financing of political activities, and attacks on democratic processes.

“CNA has been on the front line of efforts to dismantle the networks behind these criminal activities,” Maia Sandu emphasized.

Referring to Moldova’s European integration path, the president highlighted CNA’s contribution to the screening process and to implementing the reforms necessary for joining the European Union. She expressed confidence in the professionalism of the institution and in its continued role in safeguarding democracy.

“Today, the Republic of Moldova is stronger than it was a few years ago. More resilient. More determined to defend its democracy and pursue its European path. I have confidence in the professionalism and dedication of those working in this institution. The Republic of Moldova continues to rely on you,” she concluded.

The event was also attended by CNA head Alexandr Pînzari and Minister of Justice Vladislav Cojuhari.

In his speech, Alexandr Pînzari stressed that the anniversary is above all about people—generations of officers and employees who chose to perform their duties with professionalism, integrity, and courage despite challenges. He said that every result achieved by the CNA reflects the work of a dedicated team that understands that fighting corruption means responsibility toward society and the country’s future.

He also expressed gratitude to all colleagues who have contributed over the years to building and strengthening the institution, including CNA veterans who laid its foundations, as well as the families who support the staff.
