The so called authorities in Tiraspol extended the state of emergency in the economy for another 30 days, until February 15, under a decree signed by separatist leader Vadim Krasnoselski and approved by the regions so called Supreme Soviet, bani.md reports.
The decision follows ongoing economic difficulties in the region, including problems with energy supply, industrial activity and budget revenues. The state of economic emergency gives the Tiraspol administration broader powers to intervene in enterprise activity, control financial flows and redistribute resources it considers critical.
Tiraspol justified the extension by pointing to persistent economic challenges and the worsening socio economic situation, amid reduced natural gas deliveries to the region.
Previously, the Transnistrian region remained under a state of economic emergency from December 2024 until August 31, 2025, due to energy and financial crises.
