The Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) deprived the Political Party “Home Democracy,” led by Vasile Costiuc, of state budget funding for one year. The court partially overturned the Court of Appeal Center’s decision and upheld the Central Electoral Commission’s (CEC) sanction against the party, according to IPN.

The judges rejected the party’s appeals as inadmissible and accepted the CEC’s appeal. As a result, the CEC’s October 3 decision remains in force, depriving the party of state subsidies for 12 months. The Supreme Court’s ruling is final and cannot be contested.

On October 3, the CEC decided to deprive the Home Democracy Party of state budget subsidies for one year and indicated that the Constitutional Court would determine whether the party’s mandates would be validated. The CEC based its decision on complaints filed by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), the National Investigation Inspectorate, and other individuals.

The CEC Vice-President, Pavel Postica, explained that, at this stage, the CEC cannot annul an electoral competitor’s registration.
PAS highlighted that George Simion, leader of Romania’s AUR party, who is banned in Moldova for national security reasons, encouraged voters to support the PDA. The National Investigation Inspectorate monitored the party’s activity on social media and identified several

TikTok accounts promoting the Home Democracy Party through propaganda videos, even on days when such activity is legally prohibited. Authorities also noted that some videos allegedly received funding, although the party did not disclose the financial sources.
