A surveillance camera installed on a house in Nimereuca village, Soroca district, recorded several fireballs in the sky, while residents reported hearing explosions in the area.
The footage was captured on the morning of February 17 and later sent to the newsroom of Realitatea TV. Witnesses suggested that the blasts may have occurred on the left bank of the Dniester.
On the same morning, Ukraine came under a large-scale attack by Russian forces. Ukrainian monitoring channels reported the launch of several Shahed-type drones, including toward the Vinnytsia region, which lies near the border with the Republic of Moldova.
The National Police of Moldova confirmed that local residents had alerted authorities about the explosions. “After preliminary checks and the exchange of data with the neighboring country, we established that the blast occurred in a locality in Ukraine,” law enforcement officials stated.
