The European Union Ambassador to Chisinau, Janis Mazeiks, posted a farewell message upon leaving the Republic of Moldova. The Latvian diplomat highlighted the country’s progress and the EU’s consistent support over the years.
“Moldova has become stronger, more confident, more resilient, and more European. It has become better known to the world – not because of billions stolen in the past, but because of its courage and determination to move forward despite all attempts to stop it,” Mazeiks said.
He noted that the European Union has supported Moldova “not just in words, but through actions,” and today the country is no longer just a partner but “a future EU member state.” The diplomat also emphasized the importance of the September 28 vote, when Moldovan citizens will confirm the country’s European path.
