The European Commission will allocate 1.9 billion euros for humanitarian aid in 2026, including 8 million euros for the Republic of Moldova.
The Commission will direct about 557 million euros to West and Central Africa and 448 million euros to the Middle East, with a focus on the Gaza Strip, as well as Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon. It will also allocate 145 million euros to Ukraine, TVR reports.
The EU will earmark around 126 million euros for Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran, and another 95 million euros for Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, regions affected by armed conflicts, widespread violence, and environmental challenges.
The Commission will allocate an additional 73 million euros to Southeast Asia and the Pacific region to address the crisis in Myanmar and its impact on Bangladesh. It will also provide about 14.6 million euros to North Africa, where political, economic, and social challenges persist.
The EU will set aside more than 415 million euros for unforeseen emergencies worldwide and for maintaining strategic supply chains.
EU-funded assistance is expected to support around 239 million people.
