The foreign ministers of Moldova and Saudi Arabia have signed a cooperation agreement

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi of the Republic of Moldova and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud signed a cooperation agreement between their governments during Popsoi’s visit to Saudi Arabia.

The Foreign Ministry states that this visit is the first official trip by a Moldovan official since establishing diplomatic relations in 1996. The agreement aims to expand trade, facilitate investment, and foster collaboration in education, science, sports, youth, and technology through mutually beneficial projects.

The diplomats discussed ways to boost economic exchanges, and Popsoi highlighted Moldova’s readiness to export agricultural and agro-food products to the Saudi market. He also stressed the importance of launching a direct flight between Moldova and Saudi Arabia to ease travel between the two nations.

At the close of the meeting, Popsoi invited his Saudi counterpart to visit Moldova.
