The Government has approved an updated National Program for the Accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union for 2025–2029.
According to the draft decision, the Government replaced the program’s annexes with an updated version that reflects Moldova’s progress in the EU accession process, the results of the bilateral screening with the European Union, and the recommendations included in the European Commission’s annual progress reports.
Speaking at the Government meeting on December 29, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov said the program has a direct impact on citizens’ daily lives.
“For citizens, this program means efficient institutions, accessible public services, transparency, and a competitive economy aligned with EU standards,” Gherasimov said.
The document provides for annual updates to the program starting in October, in line with EU benchmarks and the commitments assumed during accession negotiations.
The European Integration Bureau within the State Chancellery developed the project based on proposals from inter-institutional working groups, with the participation of all ministries and central public authorities involved in the European integration process.
