The Government of the Republic of Moldova will approve on Wednesday, October 8, a decision granting electricity compensation to households nationwide. The measure will cover up to 1.25 lei per kWh for the first 110 kWh consumed monthly.
The compensation will be transferred directly to electricity suppliers, who will deduct the amount from consumer bills. Each invoice will display the total consumption, the compensation value, and the final amount due.
The scheme will benefit about 1.2 million households and cost the state an estimated 115 million lei per month, or roughly 230 million lei for September and October 2025.
Since August 1, electricity tariffs have been set at 3.59 lei/kWh for consumers in the central and southern regions and 4 lei/kWh for those in the north.
