The head of Moldovan diplomacy held a series of meetings at the U.S. Congress: Who did he meet with

Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi met with Brian Mast (R-FL), the new chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, and Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), chairman of the Security Committee and the Helsinki Commission.

Their discussions focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Moldova and the United States, advancing Moldova’s European integration, and addressing current geopolitical challenges. They also examined the impact of the war in Ukraine on regional security, Moldova’s measures to counter harmful foreign influence, and efforts to enhance energy and cybersecurity resilience.

Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister met with the co-chairs of the Moldova Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives: Representatives Mike Lawler (R-NY), Deborah Ross (D-NC), and Keith Self (R-TX), the new chairman of the Europe Subcommittee.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the parliamentary group’s crucial role in strengthening Moldova-U.S. relations and thanked the Caucus members for their dedication to promoting Moldova’s interests in Congress and deepening the bilateral partnership.
Moldova’s top diplomat thanked the United States for its continued support over the years, highlighting its significant impact on strengthening Moldova’s defense capabilities and institutions.
