Moldovan President Maia Sandu today met with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, who is on a working visit to Chisinau, to launch a bilateral process of analysis of the compliance of national legislation with EU legislation (screening).
The discussions focused on Moldova’s progress in joining the European Union, regional security, and the EU’s support for modernizing the country.
The head of state expressed gratitude for the significant financial assistance provided by the European Union. At the same time, President Maia Sandu emphasized the importance of backing Ukraine, including ensuring security in Moldova and the region.

Also, Maia Sandu reiterated Moldova’s commitment to follow the European path, stressing that the authorities will complete the launched reforms, including in the justice sector.
