The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), Daniella Misail-Nichitin, confirmed that law enforcement officers are conducting searches targeting Dorin Damir and Octavian Orheianu. The Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) handles the case.
Misail-Nichitin said investigators are carrying out more than 20 searches at five different locations as part of a criminal investigation into money laundering, tax evasion, and extortion.
Sources from Ziarul de Garda (ZdG) reported that on Wednesday, November 5, the National Investigation Inspectorate and PCCOCS conducted searches related to two criminal cases involving tax evasion and the 2017 takeover of Pro Imobil’s business by a group allegedly affiliated with Damir and Orheianu.
Octavian Orheianu previously served as vice president of the Amateur K-1 World Federation (WAK-1F) of Moldova, which Dorin Damir—the godson of former Democratic Party leader Vladimir Plahotniuc—led. Damir currently serves as president of the Fighting & Entertainment Association (FEA).
ZdG sources said the searches relate to a tax evasion case involving the Pro Imobil real estate business. Orheianu also founded the LION Academy sports club and the ClassImobil real estate company.
In 2018, ZdG reported that Pro Imobil, a real estate company under criminal investigation, underwent multiple ownership and structural changes after authorities declared its founder wanted and interrogated several employees. The business changed hands from “Pro Imobil Grup” LLC to “Pro Imobil Company” LLC, which was another company in November 2017; one of its founders was a 30-year-old athlete.
At that time, “Immobile Consulting” LLC, the new owner of Pro Imobil Company, represented Pro Imobil’s agents. The company was registered on October 9, 2017, at 28 Armeneasca Street, with a share capital of 200 lei. Its founders—Victoria Condratiuc (administrator) and Alexandr Petcoglo, an athlete from Basarabeasca—each held 50%. Petcoglo came from a modest family, and his father worked as a driver for the local municipality.
Until October 2017, Petcoglo had not engaged in any business activity; he worked as a trainer at the “Lion Muay Thai” sports club, which Octavian Orheianu presided over. During the same period, Orheianu served as vice president of WAK-1F, led by Dorin Damir, the godson of former Democratic Party leader Vladimir Plahotniuc.
Damir, who heads the FEA (Fighting & Entertainment Association), organized several King of Kings (KOK) and international mixed martial arts (MMA) tournaments in Chisinau, featuring athletes trained by Petcoglo. The athlete appears in several photos alongside WAK-1F leaders, including Damir and Orheianu.
