Several former members of parliament and current officials will testify as defense witnesses in the case known as the “kuliok” case. The court approved a list of 36 witnesses out of the 62 proposed by the defense.
Judges of the Supreme Court of Justice agreed to hear, among others, Artur Gumeniuc, Ion Ceban, Maxim Lebedinschi, Vasile Sova, Aureliu Ciocoi, Adrian Lebedinschi, Petru Burduja, Petru Anghie, Aliona Briceag, Valeriu Ciorici, Oleg Cuciuc, Sergiu Groza, Anatolie Iachim, Vasile Luca, Nicolae Melnic, Alexandr Numineanu, Ghenadi Mitruc, Dorin Pavloi, Iuri Plopa, Piotr Puscari, Alexandru Jolnaci, Mihail Paciu, Oleg Sava, Zinaida Greceanii, Vlad Batrincea, Corneliu Furculita, Vladimir Turcan, Gaik Vartanean, Grigore Uzun, Pavel Voicu and Sergiu Juncu, according to information published by TV8.
The case concerns former president Igor Dodon and relates to the alleged transfer of a black bag from former Democratic Party leader Vlad Plahotniuc to Dodon during his presidential term. The bag reportedly contained money, although it was presented as containing a calendar.
As prosecution witnesses, the court expects testimony from Vlad Plahotniuc, Serghei Iaralov, Iurie Renita, who published the video showing the transfer of the black bag, as well as Vladimir Cebotari, Dumitru Diacov, Andrian Candu, Adrian Albu, Lilian Carp and Pavel Filip.
