On April 9, President Donald Trump announced a 90-day pause in applying tariffs. Although the decision applies to several countries, China will not benefit from this relief.
Trump declared: “Based on the disrespect China has shown to global markets, I hereby raise the tariff imposed on China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately. At some point, we hope China will realize that the days of robbing the U.S. and other countries are no longer sustainable or acceptable.”
