In Chisinau’s Telecentru district, on Miorita Street, the municipality built Miorita Park, a new green space developed from scratch on a three-hectare public area that had long been abandoned. The park officially opened in May 2022.

The project transformed the neglected land into a modern recreational area. Workers built pedestrian alleys, modernized street lighting, landscaped green zones, and installed an automated irrigation system at the entrance. The park also features security cameras, urban furniture, a fitness zone, a ping-pong table, a children’s playground, and a bicycle path.

To improve accessibility, the municipality built a public transport waiting station next to the park. Newly planted trees, shrubs, and a fresh lawn now enhance the area’s greenery and give it a vibrant, welcoming look.

Later that year, the municipality, together with Veaceslav Jiglitchi, an honorary citizen of Chisinau, placed an urban sculpture in the park. The artwork depicts the shepherd from the famous Moldovan ballad “Miorita” and features internal lighting, making it glow beautifully at night.
