The leadership of the Republic of Moldova delivered messages marking four years since the start of the war in Ukraine. President Maia Sandu stated that the resilience of the Ukrainian people represents a light for the entire free world, while Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said that for four years the neighboring country has fought with determination for freedom, for its country, and for its future.

“We bow before the memory of those who lost their lives in these four years of war. We share the pain of those who lost someone dear. We carry in our memory the suffering of those who were wounded or forced to flee the line of fire. We do not forget the ordeal of prisoners of war who were tortured and humiliated in captivity.

We will always remain grateful to Ukrainians for defending our peace and freedom and that of all Europe. Ukraine deserves a just peace, and we will support it with unwavering solidarity,” Maia Sandu said.

“We condemned from the very first day the brutal aggression of the Russian Federation, and we remain firm in our support for the Ukrainian people. As a sign of solidarity, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is illuminated this evening in the colors of Ukraine, colors of courage, dignity, and hope. Colors that will prevail,” Igor Grosu stated.

Today, February 24, marks four years since Russia launched its war against Ukraine.
