The government program presented by Prime Minister-designate Alexandru Munteanu includes a dedicated chapter on cultural development and national heritage. The new premier plans to expand the “Cultural Voucher” program to include young people aged 16–18 and senior citizens.
Another key objective is to strengthen the protection, restoration, and promotion of Moldova’s cultural and natural heritage, integrating it into the national tourism circuit and creating a support fund for investment in regions with high tourism potential.
The program also emphasizes cultural diplomacy and stronger engagement with the Moldovan diaspora, aiming to triple the number of grants available for cultural events organized by Moldovan communities abroad.
“We will support local cinematography and other forms of contemporary artistic expression, including projects developed by professionals and freelancers. They will gain easier access to public spaces for workshops, performances, residencies, and other cultural activities. We will also develop and implement a national Media Development Strategy and expand the Access to Culture program to cover all regions and ethnic communities of the Republic of Moldova,” the program states.
In addition, the Cabinet lists among its priorities President Maia Sandu’s initiative to accelerate the construction and renovation of the National Philharmonic, the Chisinau Circus, and the Universul Cultural Center.
