The national army of Moldova and thirty NATO member states will participate in the “Regex 2024” exercise

The first atelier of the “Regex 2024” regional staff exercise will take place from February 19 to March 1. The training modules are attended by about 30 representatives of NATO partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tunisia, Egypt, Malta, the African Union (Ghana and Benin), as well as about 20 staff officers of the National Army.

According to Vladimir Kovalenko, commander of the exercise, the event is organized with the support of NATO’s Joint Forces Command in Naples, Italy. It aims to train the military in Western standards for planning and conducting exercises, managing crises, and strengthening and assessing the interoperability of forces in a multinational environment.

The training modules will be attended by five instructors from NATO’s Joint Forces Command in Naples.

He said that the staff exercise consists of several seminars, and its organization in the country is a significant step in strengthening regional cooperation and interoperability. This is an opportunity to develop relations with NATO partner countries and to show Moldova’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.

The regional staff exercise “Regex 2024” is conducted by the Combat Training Plan of the National Army for the current year and the Foreign Activity Plan of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army for 2024.
