The President Deeply Affected by the Aviation Tragedy in Kazakhstan: “Our Thoughts Are with the Victims and Their Families”

Maia Sandu expressed condolences regarding the aviation tragedy in Kazakhstan, where over 60 people were affected. The president addressed the survivors, victims’ families, and rescue teams, wishing them strength.

“Deeply saddened by the tragic crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Aktau, Kazakhstan. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all those affected. I wish strength to the survivors and the rescue teams on the ground,” Maia Sandu conveyed.

A reminder that a plane carrying 67 people crashed in Kazakhstan during a flight from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Chechnya. Possible causes of the tragedy include a collision with a flock of birds and the explosion of a cylinder on board the aircraft.

According to the latest information published in the Russian press, 29 survivors have been reported. Earlier, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced that 12 people had been evacuated from the aircraft and hospitalized in critical condition.
