Romanian President Klaus Werner Iohannis will visit the Republic of Moldova on Saturday, August 31, the National Day of the Romanian Language.
President Maia Sandu will welcome her counterpart from Bucharest at 11:00 am, and at 12:05 pm, the two leaders will hold a press conference.
In the event ahead, the officials will sign a joint declaration on bilateral cooperation to strengthen Moldova’s resilience.
The “Joint Declaration on Bilateral Cooperation to Strengthen the Resilience of the Republic of Moldova” “defines and strengthens bilateral cooperation in this vital area for consolidating and safeguarding democracy and stability in the Republic of Moldova,” reads the statement issued by the Romanian Presidential Administration.

President Klaus Iohannis will send a strong message of support and encouragement to the authorities and citizens of the Republic of Moldova in their efforts to reform, democratize, irreversibly implement the principles of the rule of law, and secure the European path.
The Romanian President will also appeal to all international partners to continue to provide comprehensive, predictable, and sustained assistance to the Republic of Moldova at all levels, especially in the context of the war of aggression waged by Russia against Ukraine and all the risks arising from this complex security situation.
Later, President Maia Sandu and President Klaus Iohannis will visit the Alley of the Classics in the “Stefan cel Mare si Sfant” Public Garden, where they will lay flowers at the bust of poet Mihai Eminescu.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis will be in Chisinau at the invitation of Moldovan President Maia Sandu. The visit also coincides with the Romanian and Moldovan Day of the Romanian Language.
