The promised response from Moscow: Three employees of Moldova’s embassy in Russia declared persona non grata

Moscow’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Moldova’s Ambassador to Russia, Lilian Darii. Officials informed the diplomat about the expulsion of three staff members from the Moldovan diplomatic mission.

The Russian side took this step after Moldovan authorities declared three Russian embassy officials in Chisinau persona non grata. Moldovan officials stated that these individuals carried out activities inconsistent with their diplomatic status.

Moscow’s diplomatic service denied any interference in Moldova’s internal affairs, saying: “Any accusations against the Russian diplomatic mission for meddling in Moldova’s internal matters have no grounds.”
