The Republic of Moldova has already secured over 90% of the natural gas volume needed for the 2025–2026 gas year, which guarantees coverage of consumption, including for the winter season. The announcement was made by the Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, at the Government.
According to the official, approximately 700 million cubic meters of gas have been purchased through the company Energocom, representing over 90% of the forecasted consumption, including for the 2025–2026 winter season.
Junghietu specified that safety stocks are stored in Romania and Ukraine, where 47 million cubic meters of gas are currently held. By October 1, these reserves will be increased to 50 million cubic meters, requiring the purchase of an additional 2.9 million cubic meters.
