Today, March 20, the Republic of Moldova celebrates International Francophonie Day, reaffirming its commitment to the shared values of the Francophone space—democracy, cultural diversity, and dialogue between nations. On this occasion, President Maia Sandu expressed her appreciation for the Francophone community and all those who promote the French language in Moldova.
“We are proud to be part of the Francophone family, a community of over 300 million speakers worldwide. We are delighted that children in Moldova are learning and loving the French language—a bridge to new opportunities and friendships across the globe,” the head of state stated.
According to statistics, over 100,000 students in Moldova study French in the country’s educational institutions.
