The Government of Moldova and UN entities reviewed the results of their partnership and coordinated external aid programs to match the country’s strategic priorities.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked the UN family in Moldova for its continuous support and for contributing to Moldova’s strategic objective of European integration.
He especially highlighted the support offered to Ukrainian nationals hosted in Moldova. “Moldova stands by Ukraine, and we make sure that Ukrainians living here feel at home. We integrate them into our social and economic systems and labor market, and we thank you for supporting these efforts,” the Prime Minister stated.

UN Resident Coordinator in Moldova, Yesim Oruc, emphasized that the close partnership between the UN entities and the Government ensures international support aligns with local needs to maximize results. “As Moldova progresses toward EU accession, the UN’s work increasingly aligns with national reforms required for European integration and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” she noted.
Participants emphasized the progress achieved over the past year in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals and implementing measures in human rights, social protection, the environment, public health, and refugee inclusion.
They highlighted the RESTART reform to modernize the social protection system, support over 790,000 families through the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, and the upcoming 2024 population and housing census.
The meeting also reviewed Moldova’s strategic development documents, with a strong focus on the EU-funded Moldova Growth Plan, which will guide future planning efforts.
