The Russian Embassy: We have not received information about the bomb alert. The MFA, after summoning Darii: We reject the accusations

The Russian Embassy in Chisinau accused Moldovan authorities of seriously violating their international obligations under the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. The embassy stated that the host state must ensure all necessary conditions for diplomatic activities. This declaration followed a bomb threat reported at the embassy on Wednesday, March 19.

In a press release, the Russian mission claimed that Moldovan law enforcement officers blocked the embassy premises for several hours and prevented the Russian ambassador from entering the building. Additionally, embassy personnel and their family members, including women and children, could not leave the embassy and access the city. The diplomatic mission also stated that Moldovan authorities failed to provide any official notification regarding the alleged attack.

The Russian Foreign Ministry immediately issued a protest note to Moldova’s ambassador to Russia, Lilian Darii, demanding that Moldovan authorities end the blockade of the Russian diplomatic mission in Chisinau as soon as possible.
