The BERD’S Hotel in Chisinau has launched a silk scarf created in collaboration with Romanian artist Madalina Andronic, marking the hotel’s 10th anniversary. The piece, titled “Tree of Life,” draws inspiration from the traditional Pomul Vieții motif, a symbol deeply rooted in Romanian art and culture for centuries.

The “Tree of Life” is a familiar element in traditional ornamentation, appearing in sculpture, embroidery, textiles, and religious art. It represents continuity between generations and the harmony between humans and the universe. Madalina Andronic reinterpreted this motif in a contemporary style tailored to the BERD’S visual identity.

The symbol already appears widely throughout the hotel’s interior—from bas-reliefs and sculptures to textiles and artworks. The new scarf extends this aesthetic and offers guests, as well as the general public, a collectible design piece.

The collaboration between the BERD’S and Andronic unfolded over more than six months, during which they developed the visual concept, color palette, and technical details of the accessory.

“We’ve been working on this collaboration for more than half a year, and now you’ll see the result. In my opinion, it is beautiful and truly special,” said Lucia Berdos, General Director of the BERD’S Hotel.

The “Tree of Life” silk scarf is now available in the hotel’s gift shop in Chisinau.
