The “TUX” case has been completed and sent to court. According to the Police of the Republic of Moldova, the accused allegedly organized, coordinated, and actively promoted criminal activities carried out through the online platform “TUX,” which reportedly facilitated unauthorized transactions with virtual assets without the licenses required by law.

Authorities say the platform was heavily promoted on social networks and messaging apps and presented as an opportunity to earn fast and guaranteed profits.

If found guilty, the defendants face prison sentences ranging from 5 to 10 years, as well as fines between 650,000 and 1,000,000 lei.

Investigators continue criminal proceedings against other individuals suspected of involvement. All persons sent to trial benefit from the presumption of innocence until a final court decision is issued.

At the beginning of December last year, authorities detained 10 people in connection with the TUX case.

The platform came into public attention in early October 2025 after users reported that they could no longer access their accounts or invested funds. Images circulated online showing individuals demanding explanations at the company’s headquarters, prompting authorities to open a criminal case for fraud. The investigation concerns large sums of money and the possible involvement of employees from public institutions.

Authorities carried out 28 searches across the country. Following these operations, they detained five individuals, including the alleged leaders of the platform, Antonina Samoilă and Valentin Samoilă. Investigators estimate the platform’s total turnover in the Republic of Moldova at around 48 million euros, making the TUX case one of the largest financial scandals in recent years.
