The UEFA will grant €720,000 in compensation to Moldovan clubs that contributed players to the national team during the UEFA competitions between 2020 and 2024. The UEFA stated it in a press release.
The funds are part of a record €233 million distributed through the UEFA Benefit Program to 901 clubs from all 55 national associations. The compensation covers the release of players for the UEFA Nations League 2020/21 and 2022/23, the 2022–2024 European qualifiers, and the UEFA EURO 2024 final tournament. The finalized amount includes the latest payments related to the EURO 2024.
It marks a significant increase from the €200 million distributed in the previous cycle, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding that the UEFA and the European Club Association (ECA) signed in February 2019.
