The United Kingdom may deploy a team of military experts specialized in countering drones to the Republic of Moldova to help strengthen the country’s defense amid a tense regional context, moldova1.md reports.
According to British media, officials are expected to announce the decision during the NATO defense ministers’ meeting in Brussels. The move is part of London’s commitment to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank and to assist Ukraine’s neighboring countries in addressing emerging aerial threats.
At the same time, the UK government confirmed a £600 million investment to speed up drone deliveries to the Ukrainian armed forces — the largest such contribution in 2025.
The team of specialists bound for Chisinau would train Moldovan troops in modern anti-drone tactics, as air attacks intensify across the region.
When asked by journalists on October 15, ahead of the government meeting, Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii said he had no information about a potential British expert mission in Moldova and was unaware of any related details.
