The USA offers $130 million for the Straseni–Gutinas line. American businessmen discussed with Hajder and Junghietu

The United States of America will provide Moldova with 130 million dollars for the Straseni–Gutinas power line. The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau announced that the acting Deputy Chief of Mission, Elizabeth Lawrence, discussed the project with the Ministers of Energy and Environment.

Representatives of the American business community also participated in the meeting with Dorin Junghietu and Gheorghe Hajder. According to the diplomatic mission, the discussions focused on the next steps in implementing the construction project.

The U.S. Embassy stated that American assistance worth 130 million dollars will support the construction of the 190-kilometer Straseni–Gutinas power line, which will improve Moldova’s energy infrastructure with the involvement of American companies.

The Straseni–Gutinas line will connect Moldova’s infrastructure with Romania and the European grid, strengthening the country’s energy security.
