The Republic of Moldova will borrow 40 million dollars from the World Bank to improve hydrometeorological services and strengthen institutions for emergency response. The Foreign Policy and European Integration Committee members approved the report to start negotiations on the loan agreement.
Moldova will invest 29 of the 40 million dollars in strengthening institutions for emergency response. Additionally, Moldova has earmarked 6 million dollars for improving hydrometeorological services and 3 million dollars for reducing the critical infrastructure risk and enhancing fiscal resilience.
The term of the Loan Agreement is five years. For its realization, the World Bank will sign three implementation agreements with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
